Lopez La Lopez’s Acts
“Mother”
Mother is Lopez’s signature burlesque act. She has competed with this act at Lucky 13, an amateur burlesque competition in 2023. She went on to perform this act at the Vermont Burlesque Festival, and was accepted to the Virginia Burlesque Festival and The Finland Burlesque Festival with this act.
What makes this act special is how powerful I feel when performing it. It’s a moment in my life where I can control the stage and feel strong with my intentional movements. I love the duality of taking something graceful like feather fans and using them to emphasize strength to a fast rock song.
“La Romana”
By beginning with coqui and rainforest sounds, Lopez La Lopez takes you on a journey to Puerto Rico with the song La Romana by Bad Bunny. Drawing influence from her heritage and childhood on the Island, Lopez unapologetically shows the audience her roots with this fan dance. She performed this act at the Ohio Burlesque Festival’s 2024 Saturday Night Gala.
This act means the most to me because it challenges my own identity on what it means to be Latina. I try to strip away (literally) the ideals that reggaeton can’t be beautiful and pair it with an elegant costume and fan dance. I want people to see me for who I am – a latin woman through and through.
“Sir Duke”
Bubbly, fun, and all around a good time, Lopez La Lopez’s Sir Duke number is sure to get audiences smiling ear to ear. This performance is an interactive fan dance which is sure to bring pure joy.
This act is my favorite to perform because it’s all around just fun! I want my audience to forget about their real life for a moment and be silly with me.
“La Pinata”
It’s a fiesta! Lopez La Lopez transforms into a real life pianta with this festive act. This performance is silly, fun, and requires a bit of audience help to get the candy out of the pinata ;)
I draw a lot of inspiration from my hertiage and childhood and this act took me back to the many celebrations I had as a kid. This act is one of my most challenging because I wanted to be authentic and create my gown out of paper, like a real pinata.
“Classy La Classy”
Lopez La Lopez has audiences experience the golden age of burlesque with this classic act. With a long fluffy boa and audience interaction, this number is sophisticated and true to old school burlesque performance.
I created this act as a nod to early burlesque and the performers before me. This number takes inspiration from 1940’s burly-q performances and is meant to portray me at my highest femme-self.
“Feeling Alright”
Are you ever just feeling… alright? Lopez La Lopez tries to lift your mood with this act set to the song “feeling alright” by Joe Crocker. This low seductive act with a buildup is one of Lopez’s most performed acts as it’s a crowd pleaser & crowd cheer-er-up-er.
This act was created when I wasn’t feeling great about myself. Hence the song choice. It’s mean’t to help me push through those moments and preserve. I essentially take the audience on a self-love journey with me,
